Welcome to CAMS
Community Action for a Multicultural Society (CAMS), is a network of multicultural community workers undertaking systemic and group advocacy, and community capacity-building activities to strengthen multiculturalism across the state and to support people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Workers include local regional officers; a grants access officer; statewide ethnic specific workers for three communities- Australian South Sea Islanders, Pacific Islander Communities, refugee-African focus; and several statewide systemic advocacy workers. CAMS workers are based in community organisations, peaks and one Council. Regional areas where CAMS workers are located include Logan, Bundaberg, Mackay, Gold Coast, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, Cairns, Toowoomba and Townsville.
For those not familiar with the CAMS program, we are 20 CAMS workers based in 16 organisations across Queensland. Our statewide network is extensive in skills, knowledge and expertise and includes individuals and organisations committed to increasing access and equity for CALD communities. Read More
